Instead of publically defending his running mate, Sen. John McCain seems content to set back and say nothing while anonymous members of his former campaign staff publically slam Gov. Sarah Palin, his campaign’s, and the Republican party’s choice for Vice President.

Where is the courage, straight talk, and character, we all heard so much about during the campaign? These attacks are the work of cowards and they should be called out personally by McCain.

Thankfully, there is Mary Katharine Ham at The Weekly Standard to take up McCain’s slack.

On another front, it looks like John McCain and his campaign may have created a monster.

And today, Rasmussen Reports published a poll indicating that:

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency, even as news reports surface that some McCain staffers think she was a liability.

Only 20% of GOP voters say Palin hurt the party’s ticket, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Six percent (6%) say she had no impact, and five percent (5%) are undecided. More…
